The Fennica FNB dataset, after the cleaning and harmonization process, has been published on the web server hosted by CSC Rahti, accessible at http://fennica-fennica.rahtiapp.fi/index.html. The report and code are constantly updated, with new versions fetched from GitHub through webhook integration. This helps to ensure that users have access to the most up-to-date and accurate data for their analyses and visualizations.
To enhance user experience and improve accessibility, we developed a custom script to transform the auxiliary CSV files into HTML tables. This conversion process further enhances the interactive interface. The same user-friendly HTML format will be used further on after the expansion of the current dataset.
During the DARIAH-FI Workshop in Helsinki on April 24, 2023, Pyry Kantanen delivered a presentation on metadata harmonization with a specific focus on the Rahti app and workflow. During the Finnish Literary Research Society’s Annual Conference on May 4, 2023 in Turku, Leo Lahti participated in a panel discussion led by Kati Launis, titled Digital Methods and Materials as Innovators in Finnish Literary History. He focused on data analysis and visualization techniques and their application in digital humanities. Julia Matveeva provided visualizations depicting the history of Finnish literature that Kati Launis used in her presentation.
